religion of pieces

"A woman was stoned to death for adultery on Monday in an Islamist-controlled region of Somalia. Somali human rights officials said the woman, 23, had been raped, but the Islamist authorities determined that she was guilty of adultery. She was buried up to her neck and stoned after a crowd of thousands gathered at a soccer field in the town of Kismayu, which is controlled by the Shabab, a radical Islamist group. "

Nice and brave work. What's the best we can cope for here? That one or two of these thousands went home feeling slightly uneasy about what transpired? Well fuck you, you were a willing participant. I hope you're proud of yourself.

Next time (and there WILL be a next time) don't let this happen. I don't care what it costs you.

EDIT: As someone on the Dawkins forum commented, these people were all too busy checking the nametags on teddy bears to prevent a tradgedy.

EDIT: It turns out that the girl wasn't 23 at all, but 13. Let's get this straight: a 13 year old girl was raped by three men and she went with her family to the police, she brutally murdered in front of 1000 people who did nothing to intervene. Why? Simple machismo, fuelled by religious indoctrination. Their manhood was somehow challenged by the perceived sexual potency of this young girl. It challenged their justifications for the ownership and forced subservience of women.
